Friends of Graphics on Televisions gather for Another Pun

Graphics on Television knows that the best thing after a pun, is Another Pun.

This album has seriously grown on me since I first downloaded it. I even played my favorite track, Let It Out on an episode of my Subcon Podcast.

This also hits my sweet spot of band arrangements of chiptune originals. Why a song gotta be in a game before you can remix it, huh?

Believe me when I say this album comes highly recommended.

Bonus tracks included with full album download.

Another Pun is a re-envisioning of our album Pun,
selflessly brought to life by the unstoppable crew below.

Check out Juice Lee and his latest album The Reverie

a2236751074_10 (1).jpg

Juice Lee lays it down old school with those beats and it's kicking my ass. Review coming at some point for sure.

Current Favorite tracks: Lightning Strikes Twice, Con-Soul

He included lyrics! Oh damn that makes this the best nerdy hip hop album of 2015 for me so far!

Juice Lee (born Fred McKinstry) is a nerdcore Hip Hop artist hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio.  His in-depth storytelling and near-limitless comic book and gaming references, wrapped inside intricate wordplay, evoke images of a lyrical Superhero. When not steeped in the realm of RPG’s and comic book characters, his lyrics are drawn from real experiences of the average working-class person rather than fabricated images of success. A gamer who performs and rhymes with his game face on, Juice Lee's nice-guy nerd sensibilities and intelligence flow seamlessly into his stellar lyrical prowess and inviting stage presence.
Juice has been active in his local hip hop scene since 2002. He independently released three solo efforts, the most recent being the “The Reverie” EP (2014). Juice has also played in a number of venues across the US, such as Riverbend (Cincinnati), the Shadow Lounge(Pittsburgh), and the Airliner Bar (L.A.). He has also performed in various music festivals across the country, such as the Vans Warped Tour and All Points West. Juice is currently working on his next project, a follow-up to the Kung-Fu Rap opera “The Epic of John Fong,” which he is targeting for a Spring 2015 release. He also has collaborated with Ilyas (formerly of Tanya Morgan) in creating a nerdcore album entitled “Double Dragon.” In addition to playing on the same stages as nerdcore acts such as Mega Ran, SkyBlew, and D&D Sluggers, he has also opened for numerous mainstream Hip Hop acts, including The Roots, Aceyalone and Talib Kweli. Juice is also a VFX artist who ishot and edited a special effects-heavy vlog. When he’s not rapping, he runs a weekly geekly podcast, “Darkfyre Entertainment,” with co-hosts Nyte and Leago.
Juice Lee heralds his hip-hop-high-score raps as beacons of hope for all rhymeplayers. Game Over.

Check out 'Let's Go Home,' the latest chiptune album by Weave of K.

Always glad to rep new Pterodactyl Squad. This is a catchy Atari 2600 based album by San Francisco based musician Weave of K.

DOWNLOAD FOR FREE @ www.ptesquad.com/more/pte056.html

Five years since his last EP on the Squad, Weave of K. has crafted five breezy/dreamy ditties from the circuits of the often-underused Atari 2600 (along with a sprinkling of NES sounds)!

”I wanted to keep the EP as simple as I possibly could, just like the Atari 2600 games way back when. The song titles are inspired by places in San Francisco and Oakland that have a reputation with deaths. It may sound dark but really it’s no darker than the concepts of a lot of Atari 2600 games. There’s a lot of shoot ‘em up games and there are a lots of deaths - fortunately for the console, it had a reset switch.”

JANKENPOPP's new chiptune album Teh Art Of Party Trolling available now

Party glitch music

The album isn't available to stream in full apparently (wack) but the album is free to download (cool!) You can get acquainted with The Art of Party Trolling with the opening track, "Teh Lulz"

I started with Game Boy music around 2007, at this time there was no smartphones, tablets or whatever and Game Boy was (and I think still is) the ultimate pocket music tool for party trolling. Back in the days I was squatting around Easter Europe and parting mostly every night. My favourite game was to try to play at every party I would go, so I used to ask every Dj I met: “Hey bro can I play some super Mario music after your track? Pleeeeease!”
The nostalgic guy usually said yes before to realize I was actually trolling ultra-happy-rave-core-music into the speakers, driving people instantly nut and party rocking next level for 1 or 2 tracks before somebody kicked me out LOL. Long story short, this is my first Game Boy album, did it for Teh Lulz & hope you enjoy it!

Tracks composed by Jankenpopp on LSDJ between 2010 and 2015. Performed live through a Kaosspad and a midas vintage console on 12th February 2015.

Listen to the latest Retro VGM Revival Hour, a tribute to the music of Sonic The Hedgehog

When I tap my foot, that means hurry up!

This podcast is making me want to fit some Sonic tunes into my own podcast. Check out the burgeoning podcast focusing on original video game soundtracks.

GOTTA GO FAST!
Ever since stepping into the battle against injustice, Sonic has been the champion of peace and is renowned the world over for saving it countless times. During his many adventures, Sonic has traveled from the ends of the world to the far reaches of space and time, while facing countless trials that have tested him to the fullest, earning him many titles, allies and the scorns of several foes. Well-known for his legendary cocky attitude, easy-going demeanor and somewhat short temper, yet strong sense of justice, compassion, heart of gold and love for freedom and adventure, Sonic uses his abilities to protect the innocent from his world and those beyond from the forces of evil, especially his arch-nemesis Dr. Eggman (originally Introduced as Dr. Robotnick) , who constantly seeks world domination.

Although at this moment, the name has brought many frowns and feelings of false hope to his followers as of late, this podcast is to remember the good music that this franchise has brought to us through the years and remember how amazing this franchise really is. This is why this STAGE is devoted to all the amazing music from the SONIC THE HEDGEHOG games

WE ARE DOOMED OST ∞ by Robby Duguay available now

Some of these infectious beats are definitely going into an upcoming Subcon Podcast. This OST has got those claustrophic, Super Metroid style electronic beats going. Very catchy, but with just the right amount of glitchy dissonance to keep your wits about you.  The unique samples give this album a lot of life. The way that the music builds based on the stages of WE ARE DOOMED creates an ever intensifying album experience as well. At least until you're kicked to the main screen with the ending track, "ways of being doomed (menu)."

The official soundtrack to Vertex Pop‘s 2D twin-stick survival shooter, WE ARE DOOMED. Ambient vocal samples and FM synthesizers layer over each other to foster a meditative state in the listener. As the waves of visually striking polygonal baddies swarm, the music glitches more and more, transforming into an intense digital soundscape. Composed and produced by Robby Duguay at Bento Miso in Toronto, Canada.

Release schedule for the game:
PS4 (North America), April 14th 2015
PS4 (Europe), April 15th 2015
Xbox One (Worldwide), April 17th 2015
Steam (PC and Mac), April 21st 2015
PSVita, Summer 2015

The album is an extended followup to the 2014 WE ARE DOOMED OST EP album, featuring remastered versions of the original game mode tunes, plus 16 minutes of all-new music from the game’s endless mode.

Prescription for Sleep: Game Music Lullabies Volume II available now

Scarlet Moon Records is pleased to announce the availability of its highly-anticipated arrangement album, Prescription for Sleep: Game Music Lullabies Volume II. This follow-up to 2014's acclaimed first volume presents many of gaming's greatest melodies arranged to sooth and relax, performed live by GENTLE LOVE featuring saxophonist Norihiko Hibino (known for his contributions to the Bayonetta and Metal Gear Solid series, including the iconic "Snake Eater" theme) and pianist AYAKI. The album is fully licensed and is now available via LOUDR and other digital retailers:

Prescription for Sleep: Game Music Lullabies Volume II on LOUDR

The themes featured on Prescription for Sleep: Game Music Lullabies Volume II include pieces from classic titles like Final Fantasy and DuckTales alongside newer favorites such as Shovel Knight andThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. An original composition is also featured to highlight Norihiko Hibino's recent endavor to bring healing music to the world through his work with Hibino Sound Therapy Lab.

"I just had to create a second volume! There were just too many tracks I still wanted to hear from GENTLE LOVE," reflects Scarlet Moon Records Producer Jayson Napolitano. "In my notes to Hibino-san, I described the peaceful town of elves from Final Fantasy IV, the heaviness and melancholy of the call of the giants from Majora's Mask, and the majesty of outer space and the universal love people have for 'The Moon' from DuckTales. They were able to capture the essense of each track while still adhering to the goal of inducing relaxation and sleep. Given the curve balls I threw them, I couldn't be more impressed with the result. I hope listeners are too."

Norihiko Hibino and pianist AYAKI, known as GENTLE LOVE when performing together, have toured throughout Japan, bringing their unique therapeutic approach featuring live saxophone and piano to those in need after the 2011 earthquake and tsunami. They've performed at a number of charity functions, and continue to explore the therapeutic applications of music as a part of the Hibino Sound Therapy Lab.

Visit the official Prescription for Sleep: Game Music Lullabies website for information on both albums and to see their launch trailers:

Mayor Wertz pays tribute to Hotline Miami in his latest hip hop EP

Mayor Wertz is on the ballot in Miami

Catchy EP! I don't know a single thing about Hotline Miami though.

This is by longtime friend of the site, Mayor Wertz, which is why I feel okay in saying, ADD SOME LINER NOTES, "Mayor." Get your secretary on that or something. I don't even have anything to copy/paste here. I'm just grabbing his facebook post...

My Hotline Miami EP just came out today, and it’s free! You should give it a listen and then play Hotline Miami. Or do both at the same time. Whatever floats your boat.

Check out the debut, self-titled chiptune rock album by Marshall Art

One of those albums you hate yourself for not posting when it dropped.

I love the shizz, and I love all the shizzies and other folks who appear on this far too short album.

This album seriously has everything, even SPAMTRON!

Review definitely incoming, been a while since I had some time alone with a brilliant chiptune album.

Marshall Art is a transatlantic band made up of Jeffrey Roberts from Canada and Mikhail Ivanov from Russia. Combining the cold structural beauty of NES chiptunes and the hot energy of live guitar, they play instrumental music influenced by post-rock, progressive rock, ambient and various electronic genres.

Asteroid Driller (06:11)

They’re Like Locusts (feat. spamtron) (05:52)

Nothing Can Be Fixed Here. God, Burn! (05:42)
