Watch the video for F-Zero remix Big Blue by Game & Sound

I chose my cover of Big Blue's theme to be the first video of this channel, in occasion of Capt. Falcon's return in the roster of Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS.

Watch EarthBound/Mother 2 - Humoresque of a Little Dog cover video by Game & Sound

Humoresque of a Little Dog, also known as “Buy something, will ya?” or simply as “The Drug Store theme”, is a tune which appears in all three games of the Mother series.

This tune clearly aims to represent the American culture as blatantly as possible, and it successfully manages to do so. In fact, this piece is one of the most recognizable themes in the Mother Series. In EarthBound, “Humoresque of a Little Dog” can be heard throughout drug stores all over the game world.

To further amplify the “american vibe” of this tune I chose to include in my cover two main styles: Ragtime and Country/Folk.

Watch Schematist perform piano arrangement of Final Fantasy 7's Cosmo Canyon

final-fantasy-vii-schematist

There are some songs I can listen to forever, and the beautiful and relaxing music of Cosmo Canyon from PSX classic Final Fantasy VII is certainly one of them.

Watch Schematist perform a moving, somber arrangement of the beloved theme originally composed by Nobuo Uematsu.

This arrangement was heavily inspired by Overclocked Remix and Reuben Kee's piece titled "Ascension to Cosmo Canyon (rest in peace Reuben). I feel this is one of the most touching pieces in the game, I hope you enjoy it. originally composed by Nobuo Uematsu. Arranged by Calbert Warner

Birabuto Kingdom (Super Mario Land) performance by Ace Waters

super-mario-land-ace-waters-video-game-music-video

Lay your eyes on this fantastic remix of the most memorable music from Game Boy classic Super Mario Land. The Super Mario Land series was very strange compared to the console Super Mario platformers, and I wish they would bring that back in newer iterations for the 3DS.

At least let Mario continue to rescue Daisy in the handheld games. Daisy never gets kidnapped anymore, it can't be good for her self esteem.

Watch The Altered Beasts perform an acoustic jazz guitar cover of the Super Mario Bros 2 Overworld Theme

ABtube.png

Absolutely beautiful cover of the music from Super Mario Bros 2 by The Altered Beasts, an offshoot of the amazing The OneUps VG jazz group.

Considering they are part of the impeccable OneUps, it's clear that they know their instruments, and create an impressive jazz rendition of this well known, but sometimes overlooked theme from the odd middle child of the SMB family.

Watch "Stickerbrush Symphony" from Donkey Kong Country 2 performed by Ace Waters

The first of many amazing videos by Ace Waters showing the performance of various classic video games. Things start off with a wonderful rendition of the well known track from Donkey Kong Country 2, Stickerbrush Symphony.

The first in a new series of covers of songs from my favorite video games. Inspired by a marathon playthrough of Donkey Kong Country 2, this is one of my favorite songs from the game.

Watch video for Baba Yetu - Civilization IV Theme Cover by Peter Hollens feat. Malukah

baba-yetu-peter-hollens-malukah

Thanks to the internet, even one or two musicians can recreate a full band or more under the right circumstances. I reviewed the highly acclaimed Calling All Dawns by Christopher Tin, an album that includes this song, which is also the opening theme to Civilization IV. I'm glad to see musicians inspired by the relatively recent music of Christopher Tin.

Thanks to @Crashbomber on twitter for the link.

Hey guys!

This song by composer Christopher Tin has always filled me with so much energy and getting to sing on Peter's cover arrangement made me to appreciate it even more!

Thank you for watching. :)
