DREAMERS by Zebes System, a chiptune rock tribute to Koji Kondo & Nobuo Uematsu~

Chipped and chopped up video game covers that will make you want remakes of classics, demakes of new games and everything in between. Zebes System pays tribute to the illustrious musical careers of Koji Kondo and Nobuo Uematsu in his 2010 album DREAMERS.

Sometimes I dream,  I wonder how my life would be different if only I heard this album when it was first released. So many nights would have rocked just that much harder. Don't suffer the same fate as I.

Asis Galvin's retro hip hop remix album The Game Over Mixtape Vol 2

More dope beats from Asis Galvin in The Game Over Mixtape Vol 2. Like the album cover implies, there are plenty of hot Super Mario mixes to drop some lines to. Asis flips the script by tossing in a handful of laid back beats featuring music from the relatively very new Final Fantasy XIII-2 along with a couple other games new and old but all fresh.

Press Start: An 8-bit Childhood- bumping video game based beats by Voodoo Lion

This is ridiculous, every time I think I 'get' the song, and get ready to skip to the next one (this is an initial listen mind you, and I seriously have a lot of albums to go through) but I CAN'T skip any tracks, because Voodoo Lion keeps switching things up on me. Tracks can progress to whole new places through the span of these short beats.

I can definitely use more of this. Some of these beats are simply mesmerizing. Especially the Metroid based beats, which invoke the ominous and lonely mood of the series, while still making you bob your head. The Metroid series tends to be my barometer of how 'hot' a video game based artist is, and Voodoo Lion nails it. The suffocating feeling in The Hatchling, which definitely invokes the parallels between Metroid and the Alien movie series. The immersion into the game world is complete with well timed sound effects. Contrast that with the angelic tones of The Mother. This track takes a simple but important of music from the game, and build an entire world around it.

Then we get to the Castlevania track. "Mallory Kane (Bomb the Banquet)" takes it's inspiration from Simon's Quest and murders more people than Dracula with this track. It makes me yearn for a full Castlevania remix album from this guy (and many other artists)

The vibe flowing through the entire beattape shows that this, uh, lion, is very familiar with the source material.

JacksonImprov performs live video game piano medley in honor of Satoru Iwata

Thank you for coming to the open mic tonight. For those who know or not, Nintendo president Mr. Satoru Iwata passed away yesterday. Because he had such a profound impact on gamers like myself, I’ll be doing a video game set on piano.

*holds up glass*

This is for you. May you never fall off the Rainbow Road.

Super Mario 64 - Ending Theme Cover by Game & Sound - YouTube

I'm just an unbelievably huge fan of this theme, itdefinitely makes my top 3 staff rolls of all time. Kondo kills it on this ending, it's like he took his skills to a new dimenstion much like Mario himself.

G&S kicks some ass too, both musically as well as in the new additions he's been adding to his videos lately.

This is my arrangement for the Ending/Credits Theme from Super Mario 64.

Mario 64 has been the very first 3D game I’ve ever played. I still remember the novelty of the concept of being able to move in 3 dimensions, and all the fun I had with this game. This theme unironically makes me get emotional every time I listen to it, and I thought it was about time to make a cover of it.

Hope you’ll enjoy it.

The original composers of this track is Koji Kondo.

Mario Strikers Charged for the Wii turns eight years old

Daisy has been waiting too long for a rematch

Daisy may be a Princess, but she carries herself knowing full well that she can completely dominate a heated soccer match against any challenger.

Rare is the Super Mario game that earns anything higher than the all inclusive E rating from the ESRB. It's been eight years since Next Level Games was able to accomplish such a daring task with the Wii title Mario Strikers Charged. Unlike the friendly rounds of golf and tennis the Mario party take part in, soccer in the Mushroom Kingdom is an unbelievably competitive experience. The intensity of the Strikers series is on par with the all out brawls of the Super Smash Bros.

The developers at Next Level Games' most recent release was the well received Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon for the 3DS. I hope that Next Level Games will get the chance to return to their sports game roots sometime in the near future, preferably with another soccer tournament involving the citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom, especially in a world with the Nintendo expanding DLC of Mario Kart 8.

Link leading a team of Stalfos with an octorok goalie fending off Bowser and his crew of dry bones? I'll pre-order that right now.

Remix of "Road to the Striker Cup" from Mario Strikers Charged (Football). A really awesome game!

Hyde209 creates an alternate reality of music in 'Mario & Sonic - Twisted Worlds'

Fall down the rabbit hole of a world without the Master System, a world without the Genesis, a world, without Blast Processing

Hyde209 remixes the classic Sonic The Hedgehog soundtrack in four wavew of glory. The classic FM chip soundtrack gets a full NES reimagining in Volume 1 of Hyde209's Mario & Sonic - Twisted Worlds.

This my take on how the Sonic 1 soundtrack would sound if it was made for the 8-bit NES instead of the SEGA 16-bit. Enjoy ^^
