It has come to my attention that every year, several artists have trouble raising the necessary funds to make the trip to Florida for Nerdapalooza. With our current economic climate, it is understandable that some people cannot afford the cost of travelling to nerdapalooza on their own, but I think there can be a way around it.

"Fundraising" is a term that usually turns heads. Believe me, I've been involved in enough of them throughout grade school and on to realize the strain it puts on all parties. However, I seek to create a fundraiser that has wonderful intentions any Nerdcore artist or fan can embrace:

The "Get ________ to Nerdapalooza" Fund.

This fund will be specifically designed to raise money for travel fees for nerdcore artists and members of nerdcore community who are both strongly desired for the event, and in actual need of aid in getting to Florida for Nerdapalooza.

The funds collected will be designated for nerdcore artists most in demand that are having difficulty getting to Nerdapalooza. In order to guarantee desire of the individual or group, main groups involved directly and indirectly with Nerdapalooza will be contacted, in order of importance to the event itself. The artist that will receive financial assistance will be designated by the developers of the fundraiser.

It is my idea that a fund such as this one will strengthen the Nerdcore community by allowing nerdcore artists and fans alike to get involved with directly aiding their peers. It also has the potential to stimulate general interest in Nerdcore Hip Hop. Because this fund has no direct ties to one particular organization, it will appeal to a broad spectrum of people. And let's face it; the raffle prizes are pretty awesome.
