Dj CUTMAN & Sammus collab for Nerdcore Instrumentals 2, an album of hip hop beats

Fresh off the release of Sammus' deep dark hip hop album Another M, she has combined production skills with Dj CUTMAN to bring you an instrumental package based on that album.

The original beats Sammus rocked on Another M get a fresh coat of paint to make these instrumentals really bounce. This is more than a simple instrumental version of the album, as each song adds and changes things in new ways. since the lack of vocals gives these beats more room to grow an move. I praised the beats in my article on Another M, so I'm definitely glad Nerdcore Instrumentals 2 is here to shine a light on these great productions.

Andy Frenchtoast's Legend of Zelda remix and short film Hortensis

Brooklyn-based hip hop producer Andy Frenchtoast along with the rest of the ONGK (Overly Nostalgic Gamer Kids) crew have created a simple but effective short film. The YouTube video features music from Andy Frenchtoast's new album, Jeux d'esprit.

The song takes a lonely journey through what I assume is the neighborhood of the ONGK collective. The film contains no dialogue, simply Frenchtoast's  dreamlike remix of the fairy fountain music from The Legend of Zelda series. The video itself portrays a simple, but lonely day for Osiris Lopez, who plays the sole character in the video. The ending isn't amazing, but is certainly easy to relate to, especially for younger kids of this generation.

I will soon be doing a post on Frenchtoast's full album of laid back hip hop instrumentals, but will say that you must download Jeux d'esprit if you need a relaxing and cool album to get you through the intense August heat.
