Check out Nanode's latest chiptune EP, Journey

Nanode drops a six track EP of room rocking chiptune action. The chipbass gets bumping right off the bat with the appropriately named opener 'Discoteque.' Nanode steers the Journey EP  through a variety of chiptune inspired genres and glitched out dance tunes.

Nanode is back again with a new LSDj based release!

These 6 tracks were worked on tirelessly with absolute love and devotion given to every second. From every wobble bass, to every bumping melody, you’ll love every second.

MC Larny releases B-sides of video game remixes in 'Project Nightmare: Lost Levels II'

I'm still working on the enormous backlog of music by MC Larny since discovering his work in early 2013, which can be difficult when the hits just keep coming. Take the new album Project Nightmare: Lost Levels II, what might appear to be forgotten and thrown away tracks have a true vibrancy to them. Perhaps it's the phenomenal and ever present drum work, or the glitched out incursions bleeding over the edges of this collection. Likely, much of it may be due to the funked up remix of Sonic Spinball that I like to imagine I played a part in.

Jay Tholen - 2011 chiptune album 'Blood Fete'

Basically, swoon swoon Jay Tholen swoon, Blood Fete swoon. In other words, ominous glitched out folk funk.

Blood Fete is a celebration of surrender by way of self-denial and self-sacrifice. “It’s the Bloodiest party!”

'BLUE VIDEO ROMANCE' A gritty chiptune assault by Comptroller

Grimey, shmup inspired, cyberpunk beats

It's been a long time since I heard that beautiful glitched out grime that made me a fan of Comptroller and his former group Beats of Rage a few years ago.

4 dense strikes inspired by early exposure to ill-contextualised exotic cultural imports (i.e. encountering 80s anime & NTSC-J games without a proper frame of reference or easy access to the Internet) and the resulting damage; plus a sweet remix by Matt Nida.

All tracks slowly crafted on a PSP running LittleGPTracker in bad dark frenzies 2014/15. Glory to the Pig.

Lemon No Yume is an ugly re-interpretation of PSY・S’ beautiful Lemon No Yuuki. Everything else conceived & combined by Comptroller.

JANKENPOPP's new chiptune album Teh Art Of Party Trolling available now

Party glitch music

The album isn't available to stream in full apparently (wack) but the album is free to download (cool!) You can get acquainted with The Art of Party Trolling with the opening track, "Teh Lulz"

I started with Game Boy music around 2007, at this time there was no smartphones, tablets or whatever and Game Boy was (and I think still is) the ultimate pocket music tool for party trolling. Back in the days I was squatting around Easter Europe and parting mostly every night. My favourite game was to try to play at every party I would go, so I used to ask every Dj I met: “Hey bro can I play some super Mario music after your track? Pleeeeease!”
The nostalgic guy usually said yes before to realize I was actually trolling ultra-happy-rave-core-music into the speakers, driving people instantly nut and party rocking next level for 1 or 2 tracks before somebody kicked me out LOL. Long story short, this is my first Game Boy album, did it for Teh Lulz & hope you enjoy it!

Tracks composed by Jankenpopp on LSDJ between 2010 and 2015. Performed live through a Kaosspad and a midas vintage console on 12th February 2015.

An EP full of glitchy, hard thumping, piledriver chiptunes befitting of the name Mega Hyper Super Ultra Album Deluxe.

MC Larny - Project Nightmare: Pink Monday album release

MC Larny with a Monday you can look forward to. Electorized, glitched, and dubbed  is how Kirby gets on Pink Monday. MC Larny brings crashing drums and heavy mixes to the table in his most recent Project Nightmare release.

Expect me to talk quite a bit about MC Larny, since he has an unbelievable wealth of albums. I have begun to check them out, and all great so far. All great.

the mimos - an unhealthy obsession with vast and empty places album

From the depths of the ocean, to the depths of possibly some other planets ocean comes the mimos. It would appear that the mimos seems to have an unhealthy obsession with vast and empty spaces. Reflect, meditate, and dance. Listen to this when getting involved in any adventure you may or may not have asked to be involved with.

Jay Tholen - Vainglory EP release

Jay Tholen, the man I have fawned over as a musical genius for the last couple years, has an EP out. Blending his styles from experimental albums along with his chiptune side to create a strange journey through a crackling, strangely soothing world. Haunting vocals, and effective use of, well, effects, create a soundscape that is easily recognizable as a brand of music it seems only Jay Tholen can make. I could write quite a few things about my view of music, as shaped by this one man's fusion of narrative and music. Look at me going on again, this was supposed to be just a few quick sentences.

Well, one day I will write the 6,000 word essay that Jay Tholen deserves. Until then, I'm just going to listen to this EP one more time. Then probably listen to all the other Jay Tholen albums too...
