The Bossfights release debut tracks for free download

Coming off of the amazing performance held at Nerdapalooza earlier this summer, epic rock group The Bossfights fronted by nerdcore rappers ZeaLouS1 and Dr. Awkward have released their first three singles for free download. The songs are available for download on the appropriate blog page.

The three tracks kick off with the zombie infested track Left4Dead, which kicks off things with a ton of energy, which you need when trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. From there we hear another great new track, Eye of the Rising Sun. With catchy vocals, and a bad ass solo, this is definitely a stand out track on the short EP. The setlist comes to a close with the tribute/nerdcore anthem Frontalots. This is a great way to end the tracks, and also a great way to be introduced to nerdcore as well. This album packs a ton of power in it, and while listening to it, it's difficult to not get completely pumped up. I've been waiting for some tracks to throw on ever since these guys made their debut earlier this year, and they are certainly getting far very quickly. Definitely head over to and grab these three over the top epic tracks today, they will definitely wet your appetite for both heavy rock and in your face rap.

Zealous1 announces new group BossFights with first live show

For those who don't know, ZeaLouS1 has been hidden away in his top secret underground bunker concocting a new scheme of epic proportions. Just this past week he unveiled his plan for the world, and the news is that he has leveled up from solo artist, to full band. Now including the likes of Mr. Wizard and Bishop pulling guitar and bass duty, as well as Juggernaut on drums. Their first performance was a bit impromptu but appropriately at a LAN center of course. DIZeLAN Frag Center to be exact. The show was of course epic, with BossFights debuting several new songs as well as recreated ZeaLous1 classics. You can find several videos from their first performance at their brand new youtube page. You can also watch the new rendition of the classic ZeaLouS1 track, Army of Nerdcore below!

Wrap up and footage from Level Up! Level 2!

Hey folks who missed our second anniversary show Level Up! because you are cheap asses or don't live close enough to go. Hopefully the latter. Lucky for you fine folks we have footage of the show thanks to some fine folks!

The event far exceeded my expectations with about 100 people turning out for the show (double what we had last year), and on a Sunday no less! The doors opened at 8:30 with only a handful of stragglers entering, which led to more anxiety for me. Only a handful of people by the time Hot Waffles was set to take the stage at 9PM. Luckily as their set continued many more folks started piling into the CIA. I assume most of which became quick fans of Hot Waffles after songs like Vice City Blues, and George Lucas Raped Our Childhood. Sadly no footage of the fantastic band has yet to surface, but I hold out hope that someone recorded something, as they had quite a hilarious set.

After Hot Waffles ended to a good bit of applause and a much larger crowd then they started with, the King of the Boss Fights himself ZeaLouS1 took the stage. ZeaLouS1 did a phenomenal set with new material, old classics, and sidekick Lil Harmz. Definitely some awesome stuff, you can see footage of a few songs over at in fact!

ZeaLouS1 - Level Up

Third up, was the band most everyone was there to see. The Megas, who threw one hell of an epic set. The venue was pretty packed. From intro to encore ending they were intense and sounded great. I would like to add that their encore song was The Message from Dr. Light, available only on Welcome to World 2. We have footage for most of their set, so hopefully I can get it up on the youtube soon.

The Megas - Intro / I Want to be the One

The show finished with another band from the first Level Up! last year, Super Barrio Brothers. The team of Dumbfoundead and 8 Bit Bandit (and some of the thirsty fish crew) had quite a set, with tons of freestyles, a small piece of a capella from the Heavy Troopa is Ready to Launch! compilation, and of course some of the amazing tunes from the Super Barrio Brothers LP.

Super Barrio Brothers - Three Pipes Down

Super Barrio Brothers closed out the show, which by all of my standards was one hell of a success! Thank you to all the bands that performed, the CIA for letting us throw the show, and everyone who came out to have a great time! We hope to be throwing another show sometime soon, so watch out for that, and of course, go chill with us at the listening party this coming Sunday!

Oh yeah, and check out the playlist on youtube for even more videos!

Level Up! Level 2! Sunday July 13th in Los Angeles! [UPDATE]

That's right. GM4A has been in business another year, and in doing so are throwing another birthday bash!

Once again the show will be at the CIA in North Hollywood, California. Artists performing are some of LA's finest talent, such as The Megas, ZeaLouS1, and Super Barrio Brothers. It's going to be a fantastic concert to say the least!

The show is 10$ and the doors open at 8:30pm and the show starts at 9. Show up and hang out with us, watch some amazing music, and enjoy being amongst your VGIM brethren!

Also, this will be the official release of our second anniversary album Welcome to World 2! So if you are around Los Angeles, this will be the place to pick up the album!

[UPDATE] We have also just confirmed the band Hot Waffles to perform at the show as well!

Hex announces 40-11 in his 100 Biggest Nerd Artists in 2007 countdown

So Hex has finally gotten around to proceeding with his top 100 after a brief delay. This week it's number 40-11. He has already covered 100-71, as well as 70-41. Read the latest countdown at his Nerdapalooza Blog.

There are some big names on the list this, like Shael Riley, ZeaLouS1, Dual Core, and more. Almost all the bands I imagined would make hex's top ten (or my own personal top ten if I made such a list) have practically all been exhausted, so seems like there should be some big surprises in his final top ten.

This Friday, San Diego

News from the Nerdcore Hip-Hop Front: MC CHRIS!

We got one of the biggest names in Nerdcore Hip-Hop, mc chris a short while back said that he would be doing a show in Eugene, Oregon on July third. In a move that literally shocked the Nerdcore community, chris made an open call to all Nerdcore rappers that might be interested in opening for him. Historically not the most supportive of the Nerdcore community, he was nonetheless welcomed with open arms.

Now, a little more than a month away from the event, chris made a much anticipated reappearance on the Rhyme Torrents forums, the common hangout for most of the underground Nerdcore rappers. While some community members had been skeptical that he was sincere in this offer, chris stated that there would be spots for five twenty minute acts before his show. Two spots were immediately given to Nursehella and Karl Olson, two well established rappers. However, it looks as though Olsen will not be able to attend. The last four spots are now being contended between MC Tanuki and TG 2005, ZeaLouS1, Beefy, MC Gigahertz, funky49, Rappy Mcrapperson , Dr. Strangelove, and the Stunt Junkies.

You can follow all of the developments yourself on the particular thread on the Rhyme Torrents forum. Keep ya updated as stuff develops or vote on who should go on mc chris' blog!
