The Start Screen comes out of Beta and I write video game inspired music articles for them

So for those who may not have heard, new video game site, The Start Screen has come out of Beta. The site is hosting a new layout and lots of fresh content. Why exactly is a website coming out of beta big news? Well because I am a contributor to some of that great content!

Indeed I am now a contributor to The Start Screen and will be continuing to spread the word about video game inspired music and art there. The articles on the site will be introductory style posts for different artists and their albums. Be sure to check out The Start Screen and sign up for the site. Also be sure to check out the articles I have written so far over there, and perhaps leave some comment love and let the folks there know that there are plenty of fans for articles about video game inspired music!

Here is a list of articles I have written so far for The Start Screen.

Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Official Soundtrack released by OCRemix community

Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Official Soundtrack. Wow, if that wasn't a mouthful before. Anyway, DJ Pretzel has announced via OverClocked ReMix that the soundtrack to capcoms new downloadable remake of SF2 is now available free from the site. Hit this link right here to check out an incredible album of new music from AE, Shael Riley, Grammar Club, DJ Pretzel, Zircon, Mazedude, and a ton more!

The album is 66 tracks all remakes of songs from the original SFIITurbo. Worth a download for everyone who use to spend their quarters at the local arcade back in the day.

In fact I am downloading the torrent now!

Hipster, Please! Old Nerdy Bastard compilation release

Man, oh man, oh man, oh man! Why am I so excited? Why because my good pal and the man I strive to be every day, Z. from Hipster, Please! has (finally) released his latest compilation! It goes by the creatively titled Old Nerdy Bastard, and can be downloaded FREE from Z's website!

Z has managed to wrangle some of the best names from all around the geeky music community's. From Wiz rockers The Whomping Willows, to some of my favorites from Nerdcore such as The Grammar Club and Dual Core. Plenty of other huge names as well like MC Frontalot, YTCracker, Optimus Rhyme and more. Folks I can only hope to get on one of my compilations some day.

Anyway, all those folks are remixing songs, or getting their songs remixed, there are some wonderful classics that you will no doubt enjoy all over again with new beats and rhythms. As well as songs you may have overlooked the first time out, just to be hit with them now like a sack of bricks. Musical bricks. Hard musical bricks.

Well as you have probably gathered by now, I can't praise Z. or this compilation enough! Major props go out to Z. and everyone that put together this album! Well done good sirs and ma'ams. Now go to Hipster, Please! and pick up this album! Not sure why you didn't go earlier, I've mostly just been rambling for a while now...

The Grammar Club - Bremelanotide album Child's Play re-release

I know man, you're all like, "They just released the damn thing! And it was for download, it's not out of print or something!" Well chill. They didn't just re-release it. They renamed it Bremelanotide Blue Edition and packed it with loads of extras, including liner notes, lyrics, new artwork and more.

The album is still free of course. But for those of you with the need to give in your heart, for five bucks which will be going to charity foundation Child's Play they have also made a much higher quality album up for download. Going by the name Bremelanotide Green Edition, theis version includes all the above, not to mention an eighth bonus song, more cover art, and instrumental tracks of all songs! Also available to donors is a lucrative spot on their hallowed "Grammar Club Hall of Donations Yearbook Collage." So give a little today, and grab this seriously amazing album from this superb group! The Grammar Club - Bremelanotide release

The first release from nerdcore supergroup (if that's not an oxymoron) The Grammar Club has been released. Bremelanotide is seven tracks of amazing nerdcore rap/rock from a handful of amazing solo nerdcore artists including Beefy, DJ Snyder, Glenn Case, Shael Riley and the mysterious Adam.

If you dig even one of these musicians, or think they are alright, or never heard any of them, it doesn't really matter. This album is definitely worth checking out. You can also spread the word on this album by digging it.

The album is 100% free so you have nothing to lose by giving it a listen and everything to gain. Well worth your time. You can download it through this link. (I'm turned on by this news, are you?)
