t's a good thing I post about New Temp Sound Solutions / Shawn Phase once a month now, because that almost (but not quite) matches his musical output. I began temp sound solution Tuesdays in the apparently futile attempt to dig into the very, very extensive backlog of TSS albums I have never written about, or in some cases, even heard yet.Read More
No, this is not technically anywhere near video game music per se, but when your band has talent like members of Metroid Metal, Xoc, Viking Guitar and more on your project, it doesn't really matter what music results, It's going to be fantastic and I'm going to talk about it.
I don't go talking about every non VGM album I hear, but I damn well will with this one. The tracks are so infectious, and speak to me on a primal level. the 90's is strong here, and I can't escape it. It's like a black hole of the exact sounds, instruments, tones, you name it. I'm sold.
Some of my favorite tracks aren't even on the album proper. You better download this album right now to hear some Dope-Ass Owls.
I've reached the first of many minor milestones! In a very special 50th episode, I bump new and classic VGM and Hip Hop by BeatmakerKelz, 2 Mello, Froskees, and Team Teamwork. Then talk about Final Fantasy VII, Harvest Moon, and how great this podcast is.Read More
A dope collection of beats from DoughBoy The Producer. Classic NES and SNES beats to nod your head to. Smooth hip hop instrumentals from Donkey Kong Country, DuckTales, Castlevania, and plenty more!

This time I talk about the book that made me realize that people write books about video games! Power-Up has some well written stories about pivotal moments in video game history. See I'm gushing about it already.Read More
Man do I wish I had a metal podcast, I'd ask Tim Lydon of Year 200X fame if I could use the VGMMegacast name, and do it up right. Until that day though, I'll just be writing down my thoughts about great new metal albums like Knight of the Round here.
The debut game soundtrack by Yasunori Mitsuda is still considered one of the greatest in video game history. Trevor Gomes pays tribute to some of the memorable themes from the 20 year old SNES game.
Geek E. Inc brings us 10 tracks from a dozen hip hop artists, all in tribute to classic animated shows like Dragon Ball Z, Hey, Arnold, Reboot, and more. I'm back with an all new year of talking video games and bumping dope VGM hip hop! It's an extra lengthy episode as I tackle all my thoughts about the upcoming Nintendo Switch. I also take a moment for Advance Wars DS, and Fina Fantasy VII. I also bump dope new tunes by Nonsenze, K-Murodck, Frivolousshara and more!Read More
The Hero returns! K-Murdock is back with a crew of the best emcees in nerdcore and underground hip hop. Readers of this blog will be familiar with names like Sammus, Mega Ran, and SkyBlew, and should come to know names like EyeQ, Kadesh Flow, and the rest of the artists on Hero Muzik Vol II.
I hit play and Murdock is already killing it with those stereo CT sounds, changed up just enough to get your head nodding. That beat flows through the entire album. Layered underneath some great verses from incredible emcees like Sammus, Mega Ran, Doug Funnie, and so many more. This is not an album to be slept on. Don't shut down like robo and let hundreds of years pass before you get down to this album.
