Harmonix announced it's next game today, "Rock Band", said to be ready for release by the holiday season. Rock Band features 4 instruments ready to play simultaneously. This includes Guitar, Bass, Drums, and Vocals. This is similar to the Konami "session" mode featured in Drummania / Guitar Freaks (and Keyboard Mania 3rd Mix). Online is a major focus in this game, as EA (one of Rock bands developers) states, ""You could have one guitarist in Germany and another one in Texas, a drummer in New York and a singer from somewhere else, and they can play together online." As the game is also being developed along side with MTV, songs are said to be original recordings, not the covers that we're use to with Harmonix games. Full story can be found at USA today.
In other news, if you haven't already picked up a copy from one of the stores that broke the street date, Guitar Hero II comes out tomorrow for the 360. Game includes 10 new songs, score boards, achievements, graphic updates, new guitar, and downloadable content. Hope to be challenging your scores soon!
